The Best You: Klook’s Fresh Take on Travel
I was invited to attend Klook’s Raya Open House in KL recently — the official launch of their very first global brand campaign called The Best You. I couldn’t make it this time (ugh, wish I did!), but I’ve been keeping an eye on what it’s all about — and honestly, it’s a beautiful message that hits home.
We always talk about travel as an escape — from work, from routines, from burnout. But what if travel could also be a way to reconnect with yourself? Not just as a luxury, but as a form of healing or rediscovery? That’s exactly what The Best You is all about.
Not Just Another Travel Campaign
Instead of just promoting destinations or discounts, Klook is reframing travel as a mindset shift. According to their research, 64% of travellers say that travel helps boost their confidence and sense of self. And when you think about it… yeah, same. There’s something about being in a new place that helps you feel like a better version of yourself.
At the campaign launch, they screened a brand film showing people rediscovering different sides of themselves — like their fearless side in New Zealand, their playful side in Tokyo, or their calm, reflective self in Bali. It’s not about where you go, but what the journey brings out of you.
Marie Kondo… But Make It Travel
One of the most unexpected (and fun) parts of this campaign? Marie Kondo is involved! Yes — the queen of sparking joy is taking her philosophy beyond home organization. In this campaign, she talks about finding joy through presence and spontaneity — not by decluttering your room, but by stepping into new places and experiences.
And honestly? I love that. It makes “sparking joy” feel less about tidying and more about living.
Malaysian Voices Were Front and Centre Too
One of the speakers that night was a fellow Kreator friend, Za (@merantau_dunia) — and I’ve honestly always been inspired by her story. She shared how travel has shaped who she is today, and how Klook has been a companion in her journey of growth.
I resonated so much with what she said. Like Za, I also left home at 18 — but in my case, it was to Australia. That journey of stepping out, learning independence, and discovering who you are in unfamiliar places… it hits deep. I’m so proud to see her story being spotlighted on a platform like this.
Even though I couldn’t be there in person, seeing local creators have that kind of platform — to talk about travel in such an honest and emotional way — makes this campaign feel even more grounded.
You Can Take a Travel Personality Quiz Too (It’s Fun!)
As part of the campaign, Klook also launched a personality quiz based on MBTI types. It matches you with a travel persona (there are 8 types!) and recommends experiences on Klook that fit your vibe. I tried it out — it’s actually quite accurate.

I love campaigns that go beyond selling — and this feels like one of those rare ones that really mean something. Travel has always been about more than sightseeing for me. Sometimes it’s a reset. Sometimes it’s healing. Sometimes it’s how I find clarity again.
So whether you’re travelling near or far this year, I hope you take a moment to reflect: what version of “The Best You” are you hoping to find?
