I had the incredible opportunity to attend the pre-opening event of AJ Delights' new café-bakery and I can't wait to share the delicious details with you! From their humble beginnings as a hawker-bakery in Alexandra Village Food Centre, AJ Delights has evolved into a muffin empire that is well loved by many. Now, they've opened their second outlet, a cosy café with a much bigger kitchen space solely dedicated to their mouthwatering muffins. Trust me, this place is muffin heaven!

Where are they located?
AJ Delights' newest outlet is nestled in the heart of Fusionopolis Connexis, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. The mall is connected to the MRT station too so whether you're working nearby or coming from afar, you won't miss this hidden gem. The café's central location adds to its charm, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing treat or a quick muffin fix.

As I approached AJ Delights' charming café-bakery, I was greeted by the friendly staff and the inviting aroma of freshly baked muffins. I have been following AJ Delights’ social media accounts for quite awhile now and their Alexandra outlet was always sold out by the time the office crowd hits, so having a second outlet with a bigger kitchen area means that they are able to cater to more customers too!

I also had a chance to chat with founder Amy and some of their staff members, and I could feel their passion and dedication to their craft. They shared their journey from a small hawker-bakery to this beautiful café, and it was inspiring to see their dream come true. The love they put into each muffin truly shines through, and it's evident that they want every customer to have a memorable experience.
From their social media accounts, I’ve also seen how much effort they put into staff training and team bonding sessions, and I think this greatly reflects on the culture within their team. One of their staff member even took the time to explain the inspiration behind some of their unique flavours and I left with a deeper appreciation for their creations.
The Food at AJ Delights
Now, let's talk about the main stars of the show — the muffins! What impressed me most was the sheer variety of muffins they had on offer. AJ Delights has come up with a mind-boggling selection of 27 unique muffin creations! Crazy! From classic vanilla with chocolate chips to intriguing local-inspired flavors like ondeh-ondeh, there’s bound to be something you’ll enjoy. Every muffin is a work of art that’s freshly baked daily and at the end of the event, I was drunk on the free-flow muffins and drinks that they served.
When asked for a recommendation, the first flavour that the staff recommended was their Ondeh-Ondeh Muffin. A really great balance of moist and fluffy pandan base and gula melaka coconut filling. After speaking with their baker, we got to know that their fillings for these were made from scratch with gula melaka and grated coconut!
But what stole my heart were their signature muffins with crunchy streusels. I couldn't resist indulging in their famous Blueberry Streusel, and oh, what a treat it was! The moist and fluffy muffin burst with plump blueberries, and that delightful streusel topping added a perfect crunch. I honestly regret not getting a whole box of it to bring home, because that would have been a great breakfast treat for the next few days!
While muffins are the stars of the show at AJ Delights, they also serve a selection of delightful beverages to complement your muffin experience. I paired my Blueberry Streusel muffin with a cup of hot tea, and it was the perfect combination. They also served chilled drinks and coffee to accompany your warm treat.
Overall Experience & Vibe
The ambiance at AJ Delights was warm and inviting, making me feel right at home. I instantly felt at ease and couldn't wait to get my hands on those muffins! The café's charming muffin-themed décor added a touch of whimsy, creating a perfect backdrop for those Insta-worthy photos. Laughter and conversations filled the air, and it was really nice to be able to catch up with some of my friends in media.
